GARÐSKAGI
The Northern Lights are one of the most spectacular phenomena on earth. They form when charged particles from the sun enter the earth's atmosphere and collide with oxygen and nitrogen. The lights are seen around the poles of the northern and southern hemispheres where they form circles called Auroral Ovals. The Northern Lights form within these circles and that is where the best locations to see the lights are. Iceland is right in the middle of the area where the Northern Lights form most often.
